Adidas "Special" boxing shoe, size US 13. Made with kangaroo leather uppers, Ali received these shoes when he defended his WBC title against Karl Mildenberger ok October 9th, 1966 in Frankfurt, Germany. Banned from boxing in 1968 for refusing to fight in Vietnam, Ali sent back this and another shoe, signed and dedicated to Adi Dassler (1900-1978), the founder of Adidas - because he thought he wouldn't need them anymore.
